High-transparency PLA packaging bags are bio-based, compostable, and fully transparent packaging bags made from plant-based materials such as corn and cassava. High-Transparency PLA Bags vs. Other Materials

Ordinary PE bags have poor transparency with a cloudy appearance. OPP/PP bags offer high transparency but are non-compostable. Starch-based degradable bags have a frosted look. High-transparency PLA bags match OPP/PP in clarity while being fully compostable, with strength comparable to OPP/PP and stable heat-seal performance. Important Considerations

High-transparency PLA bags are not perfect — transparently communicating limitations builds trust with professional customers.

Limited Temperature Resistance: The glass transition temperature of standard PLA is approximately 55–65°C. Prolonged exposure to temperatures above 50°C is not recommended.

Requires Industrial Composting: Complete decomposition requires industrial composting conditions with sustained temperatures of 50–60°C and high humidity. Home composting requires specialized certification.

Moderate Barrier Properties: Moisture and oxygen barrier performance is inferior to aluminum foil composite films. Not suitable for foods requiring extremely high freshness preservation, such as coffee beans over long-term storage.

Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged UV exposure accelerates degradation. Store in a cool, dry place.

They are perfect for cosmetics (face masks, makeup sets, travel sizes) with food-grade safety and attractive presentation.
